Egg Harbor Township

Home to a 220 acre nature sanctuary, Whirlpool Island and the J. Edward Klingener Fishing Pier, Egg Harbor Township got its name from explorer Cornelius Jacobsen Mey. The meadows were so covered with shorebird and waterfowl eggs that he called it “Eyren Haven” (Egg Harbor).
Today, Egg Harbor Township encompasses 41,600 acres including the villages of Bargaintown, English Creek, Scullville, Steelmanville, McKee City, Cardiff, Farmington and West Atlantic City.
